Is it odd that I am now in the process of hunting down pot
for my parents?
On Christmas, it was mentioned to me by my mom that they
would be down for some gluten free pot brownies. Yeah, that happened. I have to
say, it was one of the greatest things my mother has ever said. I told them I
would look into it, and even promptly sent an email to a person I knew would probably
be able to hook me up. Now I just need to call them and hopefully get this
done!
Homework went better than expected. I did have my whip
cracking a lot, and was getting quite frustrated at times, but when I look back
and see how much was done, it was not bad. Ken took the boys off my hands after
that and it allowed me to prep dinner without people underfoot.
I was done making dinner before Ken and the kids got home,
so I ate and then decided to take the dogs for a walk. I sent Ken a text
letting him know and the L dogs and I set out. We were not even half way down
the block when Ken pulled up beside us. The boys opted to walk with me, each
taking a pup which was really fun. We walked up and around the school. Not a
long walk, mostly because Lycos would not be able to go much farther than that.
She did quite well, actually, not pooping once which sadly is remarkable. They
are both so well behaved. They didn’t mind the boys walking them at all. Yay!
I know many kids’ books are all basically the same stories
told over and over. Last night, I read the book Dog Breath to the boys and I
was irritated. It was way too similar to another quite popular book, Walter the
Farting Dog. Yeah, I know, both are pretty lame books either way, but these
were way too alike and it annoyed me. I wasn’t even the one who pointed it out
first. I thought it in the back of my head, but Bobby was kind of outraged,
saying that it was like Walter. Dax agreed. Sheesh, people!
I did start going through the books in the playroom. It is
tough. I mean, here I am, kind of doing what you are not supposed to do, what
with judging a lot of them by their cover. Thankfully, I was familiar with most
of them, and picking out the younger stories wasn’t too hard. I did have to
make note of books they like even if I didn’t. That is the real challenge. So
far I have a crate of books that I pulled. I will hopefully do more today. I am
hoping to reduce the quantity to the point of all the remaining books to fit on
just the actual shelves, not using my makeshift book holders. I am crossing my
fingers.
I have to say, I am shocked at how well the brown in my hair
has held up. I must have picked a good shade since it matches the roots coming
in and I can’t even tell. I do see some gray sneaking in, but it is minor. I
may not need to touch up for a bit, which is amazing!
I need to go to Goodwill. I need shoes to sparkle.
