Today is going to be long and semi stressful.
As of last night, our offer on the house is a top pick for
the seller. Apparently there are a couple other offers we are contending with.
Thankfully, they sent out a counter offer, which includes some standard stuff
that is totally doable. In order to be picked, we have opted to not only accept
their counter, we have upped the ante and offered a bit more. The seller needs
all paperwork in by 6 pm today. Decision will be made and I am guessing we will
know by tomorrow. I suppose depending on how quickly we get our paperwork in
this morning, we may even know sooner. I am very nervous and excited and
terrified of getting my hopes up too high.
I would consider busting out the flask in my purse, but if I
have to leave work I want to be able to actually drive.
Since I knew that they were making their initial decision
yesterday, I was restless all afternoon. This led me to a major cleaning of the
playroom and kids’ bedroom. It also occurred to me that when we pack their toys
for a move, it will be the perfect time to do two styles of packing. One box
will be keep stuff whereas the other will be Goodwill items. They won’t know
what I am packing up, and it will allow me to reduce their load. Yay!
While cleaning their bedroom, I found out that one of Ken’s
beer bottles had broken, making their closet smell of beer. Nothing says classy
parenting like a beer soaked kids’ bedroom, right?
I have been selected at work to be part of a new think tank
in which the IT department uses my insight to help internal and external customers
have a better experience. I am very excited to be a part of it. I am anxious to
see who else is a part of it, too. Hopefully the first meeting is scheduled
soon since it will be interesting to see what the plans are so far.
The good news about having to wait this afternoon is that I
have some things to keep my mind busy. I need to prep a financial report along
with a budget and write a few checks all for tomorrow’s board meeting. My only
concern right now is that I can’t get as much done since the Quicken I use is
not loaded on my new computer. Hopefully that will be rectified this week once
I get the discs from the RC.
I think the parents and guardians of the kids who spend much
of their afternoons at our place will be super bummed when we move. Where will
their kids go now? LOL!
