I want to dance in the rain

4-11-12

The sound of the rain was an awesome soundtrack to my dreams. I loved the gusts of wind coupled with the plinks of moisture hitting various items in the backyard. I feel the strange need to dance in the rain tonight. Maybe Ken and I will walk to get the boys instead of riding bikes. Hee!

I am so glad I have my own personal stylist. Mr. Bobby is my helper when it comes to fashion. Yesterday he assured me this sweater/skirt combo worked well with my hair. I have it on today and quite pleased with the results. Dax is an up and comer, too. He has picked out several combos that are quite flattering. I have my own team!

I would like to go and get my nose pierced soon. I am considering doing it once my folks get back and maybe have them watch the boys for a bit while Ken and I go. Although my new piercer guy was fab about letting the boys watch, I thought it would be fun to just go with Ken. Plus, maybe I can convince him to get something done, too. LOL!

Alyssa is bringing me the Hunger Games 2nd book hopefully this week. YAY! I am all kinds of jazzed. Not just because I want to read the book, either. I am anxious to see how well she has been doing on her exercise routine. She and I have been emailing encouraging words of what we each have been doing with our workouts, which has been great. Yay support system!!

My newest tactic on keeping Dax from being sad and missing us when he goes to school was some humor. First, I explained to him that when he misses us in class, just go over to the picture of Ken and I in there (there are pics of all the kids with their parents) and give us a Team Brenan. I also asked him if he thinks we are not coming back for him. He said his brain thinks so. I asked him what his heart thinks. He said his heart knows we are coming back. So I told him to have his heart tell his brain to piss off. He thought this was awesome. So crossing fingers today!

I didn’t take any Metformin yesterday. I monitored my levels all day, and everything was good! I am very excited about this. I am back to taking them, but I am considering the idea of maybe going to taking one every other day. Not sure yet. I will give it a bit more time, and maybe a bit more weight loss, but either way, I am well on my way to needing nothing! WOO! Not that taking the meds is a huge deal, but it will be nice to not need them.

Dax has been working on this huge castle Lego set the past few days. I walked past him yesterday and said, “Hello Castle Dax!” He responded, “Hello beautiful mom!” MELTING HEART SOUNDS HERE!!!!!

We saw a jeep yesterday covered in skulls and tikis and solar lights. I wanted so badly to buy this car from this person. Instead, I may need to decorate my car. When I get a new mini-van, I think I may need to consider a theme. The boys and I had considered making a white van into Appa, but I think we need to come up with something a little more original.

I need to go shoe shopping. I have a desire for some decent boots. I know it isn’t going to be boot season for much longer, but perhaps it will mean there are some in clearance. Plus, I could use some new sandals for the happiness that is summer season. I did see shoes kind of like these yesterday. Sadly they were $300, and I am guessing a hazzard for me since they were completely covered in spikes and can't you see me impaling myself on them?

I am considering trying to do some sit ups. I may even try out a new machine in the gym today to see what kind of one would work on getting rid of my gut. Although it is considerably flatter than it used to be (I only look a couple months pregnant instead of full term! LOL!!!!!) I would like to get it in better shape for August when I will be in a little more of a public setting in my bathing suit. Sit-ups are probably the easiest way to accomplish this.
