A wonderful afternoon

3-2-16

My shit work day was recovered with a fantastic afternoon!

I got home with zero expectations regarding what would be accomplished. Ken had just arrived and he was heading out to the bank and post office while I was considering running down to the car wash. Sadly, he informed me the place we use is still closed for renovations. However, I opted to join him on the errands.

After the bank and post office, we went to the Torrance Car Wash on Sepulveda and Crenshaw. I had been tempted to check them out on Monday, but didn’t do so. It turns out to be a pretty nice place! We got a full wash, which may be silly what with rain on the horizon for next week, but I was annoyed at the bird poop on my door. It was also nice to have someone else vacuum the car out. It looks as though they also have a self-serve wash and vacuum which is great, too. I was impressed too at the monthly no limit car wash option. If you went twice a month, the amount would be totally worth it. If you were obsessive about your car, you could easily go once a week and it would truly be a great value.

Since we were right across from the urgent care we had taken Dax to, we went over there since we knew we had left his medical card behind accidentally. We also were hoping they might be able to get us another copy of the x-rays since the hospital kept the one they gave us that day. It turned out to be a great thing we went!

I had been missing my Driver’s License, something I had only just discovered when we went to renew our cannabis prescription. I was all upset and actually set to order a new one yesterday. However, it turned out my license was at Urgent Care! YAY! They had both Dax’s medical card and my ID. I don’t even remember using my license. Truly, in some ways that day was such a blur to me.
The ladies there totally remembered Dax and were sad to hear that he was in the cast. They thought he was a total cutie (which he is). They were so incredibly nice that day and yesterday. I am so happy that we found this place since with our history of random accidents, I know we will be back. Plus, they were able to get us a new disc of the X-Ray with no problem! So hopefully I will get that uploaded today so I can share the image.

We headed back home, but were able to pick up the boys on the way since they just let out as we were by the school. Talk about perfect timing! It was at this point they told us they had no homework. Dude, could this day get any better? Dax opted to not do practice, which I understand. It meant they were able to have a free afternoon, which let’s face it; every kid needs one of those.

Since they were occupied, Ken and I took the time to head out to the newer dispensary down the street. I gotta give it up to many of these places. They look super seedy outside, but inside most of them are these fantastic decors that make me jealous. This one in particular was stunning. I would have taken pictures, but that is one of those things they really frown on. I loved the round silver couch and the fantastic pink design on the ceiling. It’s a real shame they were pretty lame aside from that.

We have been mostly using the one we first went to that Stephanie introduced us to. They opened a new location down the street from us, and they are just the nicest ladies there. All incredibly knowledgeable and pleasant.  Ken summed it up perfectly in the idea that most places seem to just be pot heads who wanted to open a place so they could use. Our place offers samples, and they really talk to you. When we asked about the extraction process of one of the cartridges at the new place, the chick just looked confused. At our place, they give all kinds of insight and information. They are educated! I joked to Ken that if I thought they paid as much as I make now, I would totally quit and work there.

We got home and I made dinner and truly, it was a relaxing night. I talked to Jimmy a bit, as he used me for a sounding board on some items. He told me I was really good at that and it made him happy that I could do that for him since he said he doesn’t have a lot of people he can trust like that. I am flattered. I also like that he said he waves to Steve every day when he drives by, which I thought was super cute.

It is another day of not much going on. The boys don’t have their clay class as it ended last week. So they will get home earlier than normal. I think I will spend some time when I get home working on standard chores. It will be nice to get those basic things out of the way so that the weekend is as open as possible. There will be some movement of goal posts, but really, that is more Ken than me. Also, Sunday there is a Strikers game and Ken refs. Luckily, all of that is done by 11:30 so we will have the rest of the afternoon.

Now to just make it through another day in Trustyville.
