mellow

3-5-10

I wonder if the older residents in my neighborhood thought that there was an air raid sounded yesterday afternoon. I would have wondered had I not seen with my own eyes what was making the wailing cries.

The boys had been outside for no more than 10 minutes when they started bickering. They had already been kind of whiny when I picked them up and I thought some good running around outside would cure that. Unfortunately, the fighting was just unacceptable.

I told them that they needed to go to their rooms to cool off. This is when the screaming began. It was hard not to laugh because they both were so over the top with how upset they were. I got them inside and Bobby calmed down enough to go into his room. Dax, on the other hand was in full force stubborn mode.

Once Dax was in this room, I closed his door, which he promptly opened again. I admire his tenacity. I closed it again, this time, holding the door knob so he could not re-open it. He kicked the door. He hit the door. He screamed and screamed. It was truly comical. After about a minute of this, I opened the door and told him to stop. I told him to go sit on the bed and to chill out. He did so, clearly recognizing his defeat.

I didn’t leave them in their rooms for more than 5 minutes. I just needed them to cool off a bit. I let them out and told them that I was tired of the fighting and that I was going to sit in the living room while they played. I let Luna in so I could work on some of her training and the boys actually behaved while I cleared out the Tivo.

They redeemed themselves when they not only went and got my slippers as I had asked as a favor, they proceeded to each take one and put it on my feet. LOL! I felt a little bad, but they actually thought it was funny.

It was an FFY night (Fend for yourself) for dinner, so the boys requested hot dog sandwiches, which is Peanut Butter and Honey on a hot dog bun. Worked for me!

The rest of the evening was super pleasant and mellow, which was awesome. Ken and I tried to catch up on some American Idol. We are now only a week behind. LOL! I found myself super annoyed with the whole show. Last season was so amazing what with my Adam and the other fantastic talent. This year, there are only a couple of stand outs, and ultimately the judges seemed to not agree with me on anything. My understanding is this weeks performances are significantly better, so I might be back on board after these viewings, but right now, they are on the bubble.

I have made the decision to not get out of sweats tomorrow. LOL! Ok, it may not be that extreme, but I want to mostly relax. Depending on how restless the kids are what with the rain and mommy being a slob, we may still go to the book thing at the mall. I would say that chillin at the house will be good for the boys since we are always on the go, but in reality, they sit around a house all day during the week. It may be one of those go to McDonald’s night tomorrow. LOL!

Ken is seeing Ran with Chris this afternoon, which is awesome. It is good that he will get to get out and go see a friend. I didn’t realize it was a 3 hour movie! It explains why he was pushing to do the 4:30 screening not 10! LOL! Either way, it will be nice. The boys and I will have a good evening.

I am so upset I was not in Vegas this week!!! They had an LAPD Behind the Scenes exhibit that had evidence and photos and other stuff from famous horrific crimes through LA history. It was being used to make these murders more real, and not just Hollywood like. The Kennedy family flipped out about RFK’s suit and tie that he was wearing when he was killed was on display. Look, people, I love me some Kennedys, but don’t they think that it is part of history? I know it seems horrible and gruesome, but honestly, I think I would have been quite moved to really see it up close. It would have made the whole thing more human. And I am a looky loo! I understand why they were upset, but that being said, there are photos and video on the net of all of these crimes. It sucks, but it is what it is. The LAPD was using this exhibit to really show what kind of things they have to work through every day, aside from the scandal and publicity. They need to figure out who killed these people using these same photos and clothing and guns. I don’t get the sense that they were glorifying it. I get the sense they truly wanted to let people into their world. It isn’t pretty. I would have found it endlessly fascinating. Hopefully Scott from Find A Death who was tweeting from there got some pics to show. But even then, I have seen all the pictures.

I am heading out around 2 today. I need to pick up the boys and then run over to the doc’s office to take a look at my foot. Ken is going to meet us down there since it would make sense that I will have to have an x-ray or two done and the boys will need to be out of harm’s way. Hopefully it doesn’t take long. After we will head to my folks where the boys can visit and get some energy out.

It is a lazy day all around. I find that the day after a really busy day, I end up bored.

Am I the only one who really isn’t interested in the Alice in Wonderland movie?

My Torrid shopping bag is quite full, and I am considering placing the order with my gift card. I don’t know yet, but it is quite tempting.

I am so happy! Ken was wearing this shirt to bed that he had worn all day. It smelled like his cologne and sweat, which is all kinds of good. He told me he would wear it today for me so that I could have it for tomorrow. I was going to wear it today, but I was sure I would get nothing done all day.

Stephanie was able to make her appointments for her boob work. Next Tuesday is her mammogram and ultrasound, and the following week is the biopsy. I am going to both appointments with her to give her support. Plus, we will get to hang out, which is awesome. Sad that doctor’s appointments are the only time she and I can really hang out without kids, but it is what it is, right? LOL! It will be interesting all around. I wonder if I will be in the room with her? I wonder if I am allowed? I have been in with Jenni on an appointment or two that were not boob related, but other semi personal stuff, so I don’t know how that works. I am going to feel like some color commentator while I am there. I just hope I can be entertaining enough to keep her nerves calm.

Whoa! Those are always wacky urges when they hit. I just had a baby urge. I did just see a pic of a newborn that is our VP’s grandson, so maybe that was it. The urge was not met with instant lactation which used to happen. LOL!

Nothing like getting uber busy all morning. It was supposed to be a mellow day!!

Does it mean I am getting old when at my son’s birthday party there were at least 3 bald guys there, and two of them are only 40?

Crap! The newborn was just here and I really did have to check my boobs this time. When the kid was rooting, I was dying!
